7 Days of Authentic Desert Living

Your journey begins at the MAGIC OF DESERT Camp. After a warm welcome and a brief introduction, we load the camels and set off with the nomadic guides. Our route takes us through the palm oasis of M'Hamid, and after about two and a half hours, we reach a shady resting spot. There, we enjoy lunch and take a break.

In the afternoon, we continue through the quiet expanse of the desert. After about three hours, we reach Sidi Naji, a historical burial site with nomadic significance. Close by, we set up camp, drink tea, and enjoy a fire-cooked dinner before resting under the stars or in the tent.

Today, the caravan moves deeper into the Sahara, where the vegetation becomes sparser, and the endless dunes begin. Along the way, we pass the remains of an old nomadic market, once an important trade hub for caravans coming from Africa.

In the afternoon, we reach Erg Zahar, the famous "singing dunes." Here, a breathtaking sea of orange sand stretches to the Algerian border. The tallest dunes offer a grand view over the Sahara. If you wish, you can climb the soft slopes barefoot as our camp is set up in the middle of this spectacular setting.

After breakfast, we continue our journey towards Erg Smar, a region with fascinating dunes in various shades of gold and ochre. Along the way, we cross a vast plateau and walk through the Draa Valley – the lifeblood of the region.

We take a lunch break in the shade of a tree, enjoying fresh tea and a delicious meal. In the evening, we reach a well, where the camels can refresh themselves after the long stretch. If you like, you can cool off with the clear water and enjoy the moment.

Today, our path takes us along the longest river oasis in Morocco, the Draa Valley. As we travel through the dry landscape, rocky and sandy deserts alternate. The earth beneath our feet is cracked and barren, but small plants adapted to the harsh climate can be found between the cracks.

In the afternoon, we cross a rocky plateau before reaching Erg Sadra, a dune landscape that glows in warm colors in the evening sun. The perfect place to feel the silence of the desert.

The landscape becomes more varied again: gentle dunes alternate with rocky plains, and we occasionally encounter traces of desert inhabitants perhaps a small Berber goat or a fennec fox. We enjoy the relaxed pace of the caravan and absorb the desert's tranquility.

In the afternoon, we reach the dunes of Bougarn, where our camp is set up for the night. If you wish, you can go on a small exploration or simply enjoy the vastness.

On the penultimate day of our trek, we pass through beautiful dune formations and gentle plains. The colors of the sand change in the sunlight, and we experience the special magic of the Sahara one last time.
After a relaxed lunch in the shade of a tamarisk tree, we continue our journey and reach our final camp near Kriaat Jmal, where we sleep one last time under the open starry sky.

After a final breakfast in the desert, we begin our return to M'Hamid. The familiar sounds of the caravan accompany us on the way back to civilization. In the afternoon, we reach our destination and bid farewell, with unforgettable memories of a unique adventure.
