Discover the Vastness of the Sahara

8 Days 7 Nights

Our journey begins in M’Hamid El Ghizlane, where the MAGIC OF DESERT team welcomes you warmly. After a short briefing and loading the camels, we head off through the lush palm oasis of M’Hamid. We enjoy lunch in the shade of the palm trees before continuing toward the sacred site of Sidi Naji. Nestled among small dunes and wide plateaus, we set up our first camp and spend the night under the stars.

After breakfast, we continue walking through a barren, untouched landscape. Here, civilization feels worlds away only the endless desert stretches before us. We stop for lunch under a tamarisk tree in Amyrir, then set up camp near the impressive dunes of Zmayla.

Today brings a true highlight: the so-called "singing dunes." When the wind moves the sand just right, it creates a soft humming sound a magical desert phenomenon. We spend the day surrounded by mesmerizing dune landscapes and sleep amid this unforgettable scenery.

We continue through ever-changing Sahara terrain. After a break at Erg Smar to refill our water and water the camels, we reach Erg Sadra. On the way, we may encounter a nomad and his herd a glimpse into traditional desert life.

Today, we walk in the footsteps of ancient caravans that once passed through here en route to Timbuktu. Erg Bougarn awaits us with majestic dunes and a vastness that brings us closer to the soul of the Sahara.

We leave the tall dunes behind and enter a different desert world: Oued N’Aame, a dry riverbed dotted with rock formations and scattered desert shrubs a perfect place to explore the Sahara’s variety.

On our penultimate day, we reach the Bertham region, where the landscape transforms once again: expansive rocky plains alternate with sandy patches as we follow the Oued N’Aame. We set up camp at a picturesque site near Bertham.

After a final night under the desert sky, we begin our return journey, stopping for a well-deserved lunch in Mezouaria. Strengthened, we continue on to M’Hamid, where we say goodbye to our team and our loyal camels carrying precious memories of an unforgettable journey through the Sahara.
