10 Days in the Heart of the Sahara
Ten days of pure adventure, slow-paced discovery, and deep connection with nature. This journey leads you into the remotest corners of the desert, offering you the chance to fully embrace the beauty and silence of the Sahara.

Into the Depths of the Sahara
After lunch, the trekking team arrives at our desert camp. Following a warm welcome and camel loading, the adventure begins. With each step, you’ll feel the stress of daily life melt away. Camels carry the luggage while you walk or ride if you wish through a landscape full of charm.
We cross the dried Draa riverbed and wander through vast palm groves. The first night is spent in Rass N’khal, just past M’hamid.
Today, we venture deeper into the desert. The scenery constantly shifts between dunes, rocky plains, and scattered tamarisk trees. In the distance, you’ll spot the Kraab mountains marking the Algerian border. We camp near the sacred site of Sidi Naji, a marabout closely tied to nomadic heritage.
En route to the stunning dunes of Erg Zahar, we pass the ruins of Qsar Bousnina, an ancient village. In the evening, we reach Erg Zahar—famous for its “singing dunes,” a natural sound caused by wind on fine sand. Climb one of Morocco’s tallest dunes for a mesmerizing sunset, then gather around the campfire before sleeping under the stars or in a tent.
After a breathtaking morning in Erg Zahar, we cross the rocky Dzira plateau. Following a shaded lunch beneath tamarisk trees, we arrive at Erg Essadra for the night. Evening storytelling and music by the fire complete the day.
Our route takes us to the heart of the desert: the majestic dunes of Erg Chegaga, Morocco’s tallest. Endless sands stretch in every direction, inviting you to climb and contemplate the vast silence.
A full rest day in Erg Chegaga allows you to explore the dunes, hike, relax, and soak in the serenity. Tonight, we stay in a fixed camp, where you can enjoy a refreshing shower and some comfort.
We continue toward the sacred oasis of Oum Laalag, known for its eternal spring. It’s the perfect place to cool off and enjoy the peaceful, hidden charm of this rare spot.
As the terrain changes from dunes to a vast stony desert (reg), we walk through impressive rock landscapes before setting up camp in Oued Lgharg.
On the way to Oued Naâm, once home to ostriches, you’ll take in endless desert views. With a bit of luck, we might spot wild ostriches or gazelles. Our final camp is in a rocky, acacia-filled area—perfect for reflection.
The last trekking day leads us across the Hamada du Draa, a rocky desert of volcanic black stones. In the afternoon, we arrive back in M’hamid, where a well-deserved shower and rest await at the camp.
