Erg Chegaga – To the great dunes in 3 days

At 7:30 a.m., your driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech. The journey begins with a scenic drive over the 2,260-meter-high Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, offering spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you'll pass through Berber villages and historic kasbahs, including the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for classics such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia.

After lunch, the route continues through the beautiful Draa Valley, lined with countless date palms, all the way to Mhamid, the gateway to the desert. On the way, you'll visit the traditional pottery workshops and underground kasbah in Tamegroute.

In the evening, enjoy a cozy dinner by the campfire and spend the night in our authentic Magic of Desert Camp, featuring lovingly designed desert lodges.

After a traditional breakfast, your adventure through the mesmerizing stone and sand desert begins. Your first stop is the "Sacred Oasis," a small idyllic palm oasis in the heart of the desert. Here, you'll enjoy a tea break with views of the lush oasis and the dramatic rock formations.

Then the journey continues to the towering dunes of Erg Chegaga – Morocco's largest dune area, with sand mountains up to 300 meters high. Experience a magical sunset on a camel ride and soak in the peaceful silence and vastness of the desert.

In the evening, a memorable night awaits: traditional music and singing by the campfire under a sky full of stars. Overnight stay in a comfortable desert tent.

Early risers will be rewarded with a spectacular sunrise over the dunes – a moment that will stay with you forever. After breakfast, you'll head out along the legendary Paris-Dakar route, passing the dried-out Lake Iriki, to the oasis town of Foum Zguid.
Lunch is optional in Taznakht, a Berber village renowned for its beautifully woven carpets. Afterwards, the journey continues back through the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, where you will arrive in the evening.
